Tahoe!

Mike and I went on our anually ski trip this past week...this year to Lake Tahoe!! The weather wasn't as cold and snowy as we liked but we still had a fun time on the slopes. It snowed only one time while we were there....it is amazing how fast the snow comes down at 7500 feet elevation....very pretty! We enjoyed our first Zip Line Ride and drove around the lake.
I emailed our social worker before we left to tell her we would be away. When she wrote back she said that things had been slow this fall but that they have had more referrals this past month. So lets keep our fingers crossed. But until then...we will continue doing all the things that little babies make slightly difficult...such as time on the slopes and dinner out!

Happy New Year!!

Christmas has come and gone and it is the New Year! I wish all of you a wonderful year and that all your hopes and dreams come true. We have heard nothing regarding our hopes and dreams and are still patiently waiting. We were able to spend time with lots of kids over the holidays and that gave us our "kid fix" for awhile. I was able to visit with April and Missy and their little ones (Ben and Liam) and I am learning to cherish a my last days without a child. I see how much work being a mom is and am looking forward to this....BUT....I am enjoying my time without this also! This realization is making my wait much easier. We also recieved several baby gifts over the holidays. My parents and Mikes parents outfitted our nursery for us...with a crib, dresser and gliding chair. We are very grateful of this gift....and now less anxious if we get placed unexpectedly. We also received some cute little socks, a little blankie and a hand puppet blankie. Missy & Liam also got our little one their first DMB tshirt! All too cute and wanting me to baby shop....but I am resisting the urge for the most part.

We are going to Lake Tahoe later this month for a ski trip and have lots of other plans for skiing this winter. This will keep us busy and keep the adoption on a back burner while we wait. Indoor soccer will also keep me busy. I am planning to spend the rest of my free time reading, scrapbooking and going to the gym....since all these things will be limited once the baby arrives.

Warm wishes to all of you for the new year!
